Ice and snow assessments are carried out at on purpose built tracks in the Northern Hemisphere where we can guarantee repeatable and effective test conditions temperatures fall as low as -30 degrees assuring your tyres are testing within the harshest of winter conditions we also ensure track preparations between test tyres are completed to remove external and track variation factors
Indoor facilities are available if your tyre program timing demands ensuring testing is carried out and temperatures can be controlled even in summer months. Full test management packages are available and can include award winning photographers and videographers used by many popular TV programs.
Subjective winter Testing
Ice and snow handling and uphill serpentine handling tests require a high level of skill and driver commitment, With over 20 years’ experience working in cold climate limit handling tests and with multiple magazine tests and tyre development programs , our test driver Ray Collier can provide expert feedback in all areas of tyre development for winter test conditions including all aspects required for subjective handling on ice and snow, we additionally monitor laptimes during subjective ice and snow handling to give measured data to your engineering team on the tyres performance we are unique in being able to offer our own fleet of test vehicles or suitable rented vehicles in territory with the ESP function removed to ensure we test to 100% of the tyres performance Tread ltd are unique in offering this service.
Objective winter Testing
As a degree qualified engineer Ray Collier understands the requirements of utilizing the latest equipment to get accurate and repeatable data, we use the latest equipment from Racelogic including the V3i 100hz data logger and 3 axis IMU04 in conjunction with the vehicle CAN databus to measure steering angle, throttle position, engine RPM and individual wheel speeds to ensure 100% data capture and analysis, Tread ltd are unique in offering this service.
